This beautiful holiday villa for rent in Chianti is located far from the madding crowd on the hills at just 27 km south of Florence near the tiny old hamlet of Fontisterni. This 16th century farmhouse is divided into various parts and on different levels. The main entrance is from one side of the house, directly into a wonderful large living room with original stone walls, fireplace, TV, and divan bed for 2 people. From this room one has access to a large kitchen with dining table and a big fireplace, typical of Tuscan farmhouses. A door leads to a bathroom with shower and laundry room. From the kitchen there are two staircases. One leads to a double bedroom, a nice living room with a beautiful view over the countryside, and a bathroom with Jacuzzi shower. The other stair leads to a double bedroom (with a small double bed). The villa is in an excellent position with a view over the valley and is surrounded by its own olive grove. Guests also have access to a beautiful patio and garden with barbecue. Pets are welcome: available a nice fenced area in the garden.
This holiday home in Tuscany is in a wonderful quiet place where people lead a simple life cultivating their vineyards and olive groves and with woods full of wild animals such as deer, badgers, crested porcupines, foxes and much more. Sometimes the farmers living in the area use the nearby unpaved road to reach their fields. Near the farmhouse is a stream where the people of the area go to spend some fresh moments during the summer. Nearby the beautiful Vallombrosa Benedictine Abbey, where monks still produce excellent elixirs with rare grasses, liqueur and other natural products. Florence is easy to reach by train, thanks to the close train station of Sant’Ellero.
