This wonderful holiday home in Tuscany is near Monteriggioni, a wonderful walled medieval town, at only 8 km from Siena. Originally a hunting lodge, this 15th Century estate was built over a well, from which, including the other 16 wells on the property, it takes its name. The holiday farmhouse consists of an independent stone house, originally a barn, and 2 apartments in a larger building at 50 mt where the keepers live, at guests disposal during their stay for extra requests such as extra cleaning, washing and ironing clothes. The cottage has a large living room with fully equipped kitchen corner and double divan bed, 3 double bedrooms, an open studio with a single bed and 2 bathrooms with shower. In front of the cottage there is a private, furnished gazebo with barbecue, overlooking the wood and vineyards. Of the two self-catering holiday apartments, one has a living room with kitchen corner and double divan bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, whereas the other has a large, fully equipped kitchen with dining area and two double bedrooms each with bathroom with shower. All three holiday apartments enjoy complete independence and privacy, together with a magnificent view over the surrounding vineyards and woods. The holiday accommodations can all be booked together for a group of maximum 16 people, so as to ensure exclusive use of all outdoor spaces, including the swimming pool, which is in a panoramic area close to a very attractive little pond. Pets accepted. The owners, mother and daughter, are excellent cooks and on request will be happy to prepare a delicious dinner with local specialities and Chianti wine for their guests (reservation required).
This villa with pool in Chianti is in a peaceful country district and its large green park offers an ideal place for walking and jogging. Furthermore it is in a perfect position for day trips in the area. As well as Monteriggioni and Siena, it is possible to visit the Chianti region, with its characteristic rolling hills and numerous vineyards, as well as the Tuscan art centres of Florence, San Gimignano, Pisa and Lucca. Other important sights in this Sienese area are the superb Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, a large Benedictine monastery, and the ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano, with its sword in the stone.
